'VIOLENT ENDS'
"These violent delights have violent ends"
- William Shakespeare
After a year of establishing his name online and opening for the likes of Delilah Bon, Bexx, Salvation Jayne, For The Girl & Sam Akpro
FEAR OF MARKO presents his first official mixtape 'Violent Ends'
MERGING CONFESSIONAL SONGWRITING WITH GLITCHY, ELECTRONIC ROCK PRODUCTION, FEAR OF MARKO FINDS HIMSELF LEFT OF CENTRE IN THE MODERN DAY MUSIC LANDSCAPE.
FEAR OF MARKO is the alt pop/rock project lead by singer/songwriter MARKO (Marcus Connolly) hailing from Manchester (UK) and reaching an audience all around the world.
MARKO has shared his life online since he was 16. Posting short films online to eventually sharing more of his vision and creativity through music. After releasing a handful of demo’s to Soundcloud in late 2018 he secured a distribution deal with AWAL (owned by Sony Music).
MARKO’S music is both confessional and abrasive, often subverting traditional pop style production but still somehow managing to feel nostalgic and ear-wormy at the same time.
His first two mixtapes (released under the name Marcus Connolly 2019-2021) garnered over 80,000 streams on streaming platforms at the time and established his name in the underground and online pop music scene. As well as having songs featured in Spotify Editorial playlists.

ABOUT VIOLENT ENDS
VIOLENT ENDS IS A COLLECTION OF SONGS EXPLORING THEMES OF ANXIETY, FEAR, TRAUMA, SUCCESS & FAILURE.
Written by MARKO and with production credits ranging from Bigger Picture Entertainments Mattu to underground talent such as xmichaelwarren and Jonjo Yano.
Violent Ends is a chaotic mix of electronic pop and experimental rock mixed with elements of hip-hop and trap.
MARKO's hook heavy songwriting accompanied with the loud and at times abrasive production makes for an infectious 5 track EP showcasing MARKO's alternative pop sensibility and talent for storytelling.
The opening track 'Funeral' introduces the listener at the end of a story and paints the picture of someone who's been so traumatised and hurt from life and heartbreak that they're celebrating the loss of their emotional compass.
The projects themes of anxiety emerge on the tracks 'Blood for Tears' and 'Dizzy' songs about dissociation and fear of failure. While tracks such as the hook heavy 'Sting!' explores the idea of a self inflicted god complex and mania.
Although the subtext of the tracks is at times rather heavy, MARKO manages to balance the heaviness of the themes with a playful attitude, telling a story while also creating songs that feel fresh and exciting.
